Happy 2017!

Spanish table grapes / Pablo Neustadt – ICEX

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and if you’ve ever spent this holiday in Spain or surrounded by Spaniards, you would know that New Year’s Eve isn’t New Year’s Eve here without the tradition of eating twelve grapes at midnight – one for each of the twelve chimes of Madrid’s Puerta del Sol clock counting down until midnight.

Of course, there are more than enough grapes for everyone in Spain to use to say goodbye to last year and hello to 2017. Spain is, after all, the world’s fourth largest producer and an important exporter of this product.

So, wherever you are in the world, don’t forget your Spanish grapes this New Year’s Eve and Feliz 2017!
