Tasting the history of Rioja wines

R. López de Heredia winery / ICEX

For the past 140 years, family winery R. López de Heredia has been making exceptional DOCa Rioja wines in the famed wine making town of Haro.

And if by some miracle you’ve never heard of R. López de Heredia, you have certainly heard of Viña Tondonia, this award-winning winery’s flagship wine.

This is true not only for wine lovers in Spain, but also for those in any of the more than three dozen countries around the world where the winery exports its products – sales of which account for some 50% of the total.

Read more about the past, present and future plans of this historic Rioja winery in R. López de Heredia: Tradition and conviction, century-old attributes, on Foods and Wines from Spain.
