For me summer cooking is all about simplicity and letting your fresh and flavorful ingredients shine through.

So when I need a break from salads, one of my favorite things to do with summer vegetables like green beans is to sauté them up with some Spanish extra virgin olive oil, garlic and Ibérico ham slivers.

Take it from me, there are few things as satisfying and delicious as this simple dish, for which you can find the recipe here on Foods and Wines from Spain.

And another wonderful thing about it is that you can substitute any number of other vegetables for the green beans, depending on what you have on hand (canned veggies like artichokes and chard also do great in a pinch).
