2015 Tapas Champion “Lechazo Taj Mahal”

Every November on Foods and Wines from Spain talk turns to the International Tapas Competition in Valladolid, an event at which the current participants in the ICEX Training Program in Spanish Gastronomy compete for the title of “Best Tapa”. This international event is followed by the annual National Pinchos and Tapas Competition, a two-day fete at which the best of Spain’s tapas masters compete for the top prize – with some of the most innovative and creative morsels that one can imagine.

But Valladolid has more to offer in terms of innovative, modern and mouthwatering tapas than as merely the host of these two prestigious competitions. The city is also a modern tapas mecca in its own right, with some of the country’s most celebrated tapas establishments, renowned for their stunning and delectable bite-sized creations.
