Tasting Rioja in Barrio de la Estación

barrio estacion cartelWhether you just happen to find yourself in Haro, La Rioja this weekend, or are somewhere else but in the mood for a road trip, make your way to this town’s Barrio de la Estación, a legendary winemaking neighborhood inhabited by seven prestigious Rioja wineries that are hosting what will certainly become a soon-to-be-legendary event this September 18th and 19th in the town’s train station.

This tasting event, which will attract an estimated 5,000 people, will have a variety of different wine tasting opportunities designed for a range of different audiences. On September 18th, around 400 wine experts and journalists from all over the world will be on hand, while wine lovers will be able to enjoy tapas, tastings, musical performances and more on September 19th.

The seven wineries that comprise the newly formed Asociación para el Desarollo Turístico del Barrio de la Estación are Bodegas Bilbaínas, CVNE, Gómez Cruzado, López de Heredia, Muga, La Rioja Alta and Roda – prestigious international winemaking names that will certainly make more than one Rioja fan swoon.
