You need only wander into a Spanish shop or market in the summer to know with absolute certainty that Spain is truly the land of tomatoes.
The tomato lover will be in seventh heaven, while the tomato skeptic will be challenged to find one (or a few) of the many many varieties that he or she doesn’t like. These are tomatoes that taste like tomatoes, and they come in many different sizes, shapes, colors and flavors.
And while this country reveres it’s native, regional and small-production heirloom varieties (see Minority Report: Spanish Indigenous Tomato Varieties), it is equally as proud of the excellent varieties that have been developed here though a firm dedication to research, quality and innovation.
