‘Tis the season of gastronomy fairs, conferences, forums, competitions and the like, and there is perhaps no better way to keep abreast of what’s going on in terms of culinary and gastronomic events both in Spain, and abroad than through the handy Food Calendar  on Foods and Wines from Spain. With up-to-date information on food and wine events including trade shows, food festivals, gourmet summits, training courses, and more, this calendar is a wonderful resource for Spanish food and wine events around the world.

One such event is the La Mujer Gastronómica (National Conference for Women in Gastronomy),which is taking place today and tomorrow in the city of Cordoba (Andalusia). This is the first edition of this undoubtedly fantastic conference, which features a line up of renowned women chefs, enologists, food and wine writers and journalists, researchers, academics, restaurateurs and more; all set to weigh-in during this two-day conference which explores topics like “Cooking with raw ingredients”, “How to communicate gastronomy”, “Profitability, local markets and sustainability” and more, in a series of round table discussions; which share the schedule with workshops on products like cheeses, wines and olive oils.

More information about this event can be found on the Food Calendar (where else), or on the conference’s official website.
