Grapes and olives, both so small and round, but yet hugely significant when it comes to comprising a large and ubiquitous part of Spanish gastronomy.

So it makes sense that the Wine and Olive International Trade Fair was created fifteen years ago, in order to bring together private producers from these two sectors and national and international buyers, as well as other professionals and institutions with a stake in these areas.

Going on right now in the town of Almendralejo, Extremadura, and lasting through tomorrow, this trade fair involves sixty exhibitors from Spain and Portugal, while welcoming visitors from such far away places as Brazil, Canada, China, Russia and the United States, in addition to Ireland, Italy and Denamark, among others.

What’s more, in addition to the trade opportunities offered by this international fair, it also provides participants with different tasting opportunities and workshops, including talks on “Wine pairing with PDO Jamón Ibérico Dehesa de Extremadura“, “Olive oils from Extremadura and their uses”, “The wine market in Mexico” and “Simplifying how you market wine to increase sales”, among other things.
