Acclaimed Spanish chef José Andrés has proved once again that his “ambassadorship” of Spanish culture and flavors in the USA knows no limits.
This past weekend, he gave the commencement address at The George Washington University Commencement Ceremony for the Graduating Class of 2014, held on the National Mall in Washington DC, at the foot of the Washington Monument.
Joining a distinguished list of the University’s former commencement speakers that includes First Lady Michelle Obama, former President H.W. Bush and his wife Barbara, NBC Anchorman Brian Williams, actress Kerry Washington and my beloved former college professor and Chairman of the NAACP, Julian Bond, among others, Andrés gave an inspiring and passionate speech about following one’s dreams and not being afraid to ask for what you truly want out of life.
Attended by more than 25,000 people, the speech was a huge success, immediately flooding Twitter and other social media sites.
