When you own a restaurant, no matter how big or small, truth be told you often don’t have an extra minute in the day to spend trying to track down all of the different things that your customers are saying about you. It was hard enough ten years ago when my Madrid restaurant was open, but I can only imagine how difficult it must be now, with the huge volume of on-line reviews and websites that are out there.
Enter Foodly.es, a website directed exclusively at food industry professionals (bars, restaurants, catering companies etc.) that performs an exhaustive search every 24 hours to look for any comments, reviews or other mentions of member restaurants online, so that chefs and owners can see what their customers are saying about them – both good and bad – on sites that range anywhere from social media like Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare, to places like Verema and TripAdvisor.
Sponsored by the Valencia Chamber of Commerce, Foodly.es was presented this week at Madrid Fusion by some of the world’s very best chefs, including Quique Dacosta, Joan Roca and Andoni Luis Aduriz. All three of these chefs are subscribers of Foodly.es, which boasts nearly forty Michelin stars among its members.
This project, which started one year ago, currently has around 800 member-restaurants.
