The most prestigious travel and gastronomy guide in Spain, the presentation of the 2014 Guía Repsol was a gala affair and cause to celebrate on many levels.
Firstly, eight Spanish restaurants and their respective chefs received the coveted three Repsol Soles, or suns, rating. They were: Eneko Atxa’s Restaurante Azurmendi, Mario Sandoval’s Coque, Francis Paniego’s El Portal de Echaurren, Ricardo Sanz’s Kabuki Wellington, José Rojano’s La Terraza, Kiko Moya’s L’Escaleta, Koldo Rodero’s Rodero and Ricard Camarena’s Restaurante Ricard Camarena.
This is the highest rating that this Guide gives out, bringing the total number of three-Soles restaurants in Spain up to 33. Additionally, the country’s total of 504 Soles includes 129 two-sun restaurants and 336 one-sun restaurants.
And, as if this weren’t enough reason to cheer, the Guide was also celebrating its 35th anniversary this year!
Happy Anniversary and congratulations to all the restaurants and chefs!
