The chefs on a prior visit to Galicia / ICEX

Today marks another transition point for the young international chefs participating in the ICEX Training Program in Spanish Gastronomy.

Having finished the thirteen-week internship portion of this prestigious scholarship program (carried out in the kitchens of some of this country’s very best restaurants), these chefs are setting out on a two-week journey around Spain to get an even closer look at this country’s most coveted gastronomic products, restaurants, wineries and traditions.

This trip will take them from north to south and east to west, before they return to Valladolid for the final portion of the program, which will take the shape of the International Tapas Competition for which they will each have to prepare an original tapa of their own creation and compete for the top prize.
