This coming weekend marks the last opportunity to get up to the coastal hamlet of O Grove in Pontevedra (Galicia) for this area’s annual seafood festival.
This year is a particularly important one for this classic “Festa do Marisco” (Seafood Festival), which is being held from October 4th – 13th. The reason for this is that it is the festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Not only does this annual event provide the perfect excuse for getting your fill of navajas (razor clams), percebes (barnacles), gambas (shrimp), and much much more, it also features a range of cultural activities such as concerts, culinary demonstrations and, of course, a shellfish parade.
With more than 200,000 visitors to the 2012 edition of this event, this is obviously a not-to-miss seafood festival.
