Lush, red, juicy and delicious, Spain is the most significant producer of granadas, or pomegranates, in Europe.

These delicious subtropical fruits are celebrated not only for their sweet flavor and versatility in any number of different recipes, but also for their excellent antioxidant properties.

Not only do pomegranates play a significant role in Spanish fruit cultivation – with production levels of approximately 36,000 tons a year – but they are also historically significant in Spain. To see how, one needs only look as far as the city of Granada (Andalusia), which is named after this beloved Spanish fruit.
